Which size wraps do I need?
Our arrow wraps are a great compliment to any arrow, allowing you to remove and replace fletching without a bit of damage to the arrow. White wraps will also allow you to quickly identify what type of blood you’ve got before tracking an animal.
We make two “models” of wraps, to create the best fletch job on any arrow. Ideally, you want to straddle the seam of the wrap with two vanes, otherwise it will not lay that vane down exactly the same as the others. It may look minimal, but it does make a difference if you’re going for precision accuracy.
- TAC Vanes “Solid Wraps” are made for standard diameter arrows, which are between .244-.246” ID. I would not use these on any smaller arrows unless you plan to custom trim them to size for your arrows because the seam will overlap too much.
- TAC Vanes “Topo Wraps” are made specifically for every popular arrow diameter on the market. It took a lot of work, but we were able to find a great average size to accommodate every popular shaft size on the market. The overlap will be minimal on most sizes, so you will get a perfect fletch job by straddling the seam. Here’s a link to the sizing chart, which will help determine which size you’ll need for your arrow model.
We can also offer a pro-tip for fletching on wraps; Once you apply them, warm them up a bit with a hair dryer, or lightly with a heat gun and roll them down one more time with a mouse pad, or something similar. It’ll help make a great seal. Then with just two sprays of regular Windex into a clean paper towel, wipe each wrap before fletching to it. It will make sure there’s no residue on them and assure perfect adhesion.
