Which vane should I use if I don't know which broadhead?

Thank you for your interest in TAC Vanes!

We’ll make three recommendations and we can guarantee none of them would be wrong if you’re bow is well tuned:

  1. The 2.75” Driver with a 3-fletch will work perfectly with nearly any broadhead. This is our top selling vane model for almost all applications, but if you’re going to shoot a larger traditional style broadhead (like a cut on contact 2-blade) then I would highly consider 4-fletching these for best results.
  2. The 2.25” Driver is quickly catching up in popularity to the 2.75” Driver. We recommend to always 4-fletch this model, but again, if they’re the larger cut on contact broadheads, we would recommend either option #1 or #3.
  3. The 2.25” Matrix works really well in a 3-fletch with any broadhead at all. They’re high profile, so as long as you have clearance, this is a great option for any broadhead. For larger fixed heads, this is the best option we have. It would not hurt at all to 4-fletch these if they’re cut on contact broadheads.

No matter the model, or application, TAC Vanes should always be fletched with at least 2 degree helical. Straight clamps / slight offsets don’t typically adhere our vanes well for most folks, but they also won’t correct the arrow nearly as well as when you have a 2-3 degree helical on the vane. Our vanes are designed to create spin, rather than excess drag. So if you only have a slight offset, you aren’t getting the best arrow correction you could get with a helical. Our vanes create so little drag, you aren’t creating a problem with 4-fletching any of our models. You won’t run into a parachute effect, or anything like that.
